After a year of closure due to the pandemic, the Cimone area, the largest ski carousel in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines with more than 50 km of slopes, is ready to start again for the new winter season.

Andrea Magnani, technical director of the winter resort, told us: "We have not yet decided on an opening date. Everything will depend on the cold and snow. But from the end of November onwards we are ready to start again. Even in past years we have never announced a certain opening date in advance because we are too constrained by the weather. Three years ago, for example, we managed to open the lifts on November 16th ".
A new winter season that will be anomalous compared to the previous ones considering that it will be necessary to respect very precise rules: "We will abide by the protocol that Anf presented at the CTS - continues Andrea Magnani - We will try in any case not to create gatherings at the ticket office and we will push a lot on the online sale of ski passes. In our area we have almost all outdoor facilities, so we have much less constraints than gondola lifts and cable cars. For the lines at the lifts we will try to make sure that people are able to keep the distance of over a meter between them. Already last year, when it seemed that the lifts could open on February 15th, we had organized ourselves very well ".
Although several ski resorts have decided to increase the ski pass prices for the new winter season, the Cimone ski area has decided to keep the cost unchanged: "We had already increased the prices two years ago, so it doesn't seem right to increase them again with the restart. "explains the technical director, Andrea Magnani.
There are many news that the station will present this year. The Direttissima Paletta runway has been made safe and enlargement works have been carried out. Improvement interventions were also carried out on the other slopes thanks to the extension of the fall protection nets on the edge of the slope. The artificial snow system has been enhanced to guarantee skiability even in the event of low natural snow. For the little ones, baby parks have been created in the localities of Cimoncino, Le Polle and Lago della Ninfa. At the Passo del Lupo, there will be the first bobsled track in the Apennines with fun between straights and parabolic curves, on a reserved track of 700 meters with 120 meters of elevation gain.
Finally, the most important novelty is the new Montecreto chairlift: "This is a lift that will replace the Cervarola ski lift. Now it will be much easier to connect from the town of Montecreto to the Cimone lifts. There will also be a new blue slope in Cimone. connection between the Stellar chairlift and the new chairlift.
