Val Gardena, the 650 Gardenissima closes of the agonistic season on Sunday

This year will be undoubtedly an exciting race. Entries for the longest giant slalom of the world have already completed this year in mid-February, reaching the maximum limit of 650 participants. Fans and athletes enrolled, divided into 39 categories, will leave two at a time along a path that, for the first 500 meters will be a parallel giant slalom, and later becomes one giant slalom course. Even this year's event will be the guests of the "Deaflympics", a team of 42 athletes with hearing impairments present in 8 countries divided into two categories. Valerio Staffelli'' exception will be the guest of forerunner of the race.

The best skiers in the past have covered the track of 6 km in less than four minutes, but already the finish line means winning. Among men, we cite the strong Austrian Hannes Reichelt , Christian Javier Simari-Birken (ARG) and the National Team athletes Werner Heel, Andy Plank,Stefan Thanei, Kurt Pittschieler, Jonas Senoner, Hagen Patscheider, Siegmar Klotz and Adam Peraudo.

For the category of ex-athletes will compete the unforgettable World Cup Champion, 5 time winner of World Cup skiing, Marc Girardelli, the Olympic champion Paoletta Magoni, the Austrian Annemarie Moser-Pro ; ll as the best skier of the twentieth century and of course the local champions Isolde Kostner, Peter Runggaldier, Werner Perathoner Perathoner and Alan Ylvie Runggaldier, in addition to the ex-atleti Pepi Strobl (AUT), Gudrun Resch (AUT), Daniel Caduff (SUI) and Lars Barje Eriksson (SWE).

Several ski champions of the past have also been invited to watch the race finish area at the valley station of Col Raiser in S. Cristina, where for the occasion will be placed a large screen connected to a mobile direction, thereby allowing visitors to see the race of each participant.
