The Provincial Government of Bolzano partially approves the project for the new track in Val Senales

It was approved by the Provincial Council of Bolzano, but only partially, excluding the upper part, the supplementary intervention for the new ski slope in Val Senales.

As we had written last year, the Junta had already partially approved the feasibility study presented by the Ghiacciai Val Senales Cable Car to create a new, more desirable downhill track for families in the skiing area. In other words, the new track that in the intentions of those who submitted the project should go from Teufelsegg downstream. It was also planned to build a link between the track and the Lazaun area, where last month's work started on the construction of a new 10-seat cabin with this name replacing the current two-seater chairlift, which for accuracy Is located in the Maso Corto area. The new track would like to be an alternative to the end of the track that now exists, which is black and therefore not suitable for everyone, especially for most children. The project had also been approved by the Environmental Services Conference and on the basis of the two statements the City Council had granted the building concession. Following the appeal of the Environmental Federation and the AVS, last autumn the TAR has however suspended the work and at the beginning of 2017 the provincial resolution also gives cause for lack of motivation. However, the Junta has confirmed its favorable position by motivating it broadly and articulously also in the light of environmental protection and antivalange protection. "The ski area is of fundamental importance to the Senales val and its population in safeguarding jobs and curbing depopulation," said Councilor Richard Theiner. The relevant provincial offices, Theiner continued, "analyzed the various proposals and alternatives and came to the conclusion that even after the exclusion of the top of the planned track there are no factors that could affect the uniqueness of the ecological system and that the small Affected wetlands cover only 2.3% of the total area of the new runway. Socioeconomic aspects have been central to today's decision of the Junta, concludes the assessor.

Argentera
