The Montana Olympic Municipalities Via Lattea and Sestrieres Spa have signed an agreement which provides for a review, through a thorough technical evaluation and a close and profitable debate that has taken place in recent months, of the final deadline for the expiry of the agreements concerning individual concessions.
“A result that has become necessary also and above all taking into account the different deadlines of the concessions relating to publicly owned plants. An agreement, however, that guarantees the unity of the entire territorial sector of the Milky Way and that has found a fundamental availability of Sestrieres Spa in pursuing this goal "explained Giorgio Merlo, Councilor for Communication of the Mountain Union of Olympic Municipalities of the Milky Way, and Maurizio Beria, President of the Mountain Union of the Olympic Municipalities of the Milky Way.
In particular, the agreement is based on three important points: significant reduction in the residual duration of all concessions, expiring some of them in 2031 and others in 2040; an increase in the concession fee as shown in the expert report; contractual commitment that commits the operating company to make investments of general interest pertinent to the skiing activity of the Milky Way for a total amount of 30 million euros. Of these, 15 million euros must be made by the year 2030 and the other party, for a difference of up to 30 million euros, in the following 10 years. With a substantial reduction in the years of concession, in the event of non-compliance by the company itself.
