The traditional summer meeting took place to organize in detail the parallel giant that will bring, for the eleventh consecutive year, the maximum circuit in the South Tyrolean town.

Confirmed for a few weeks now with the publication of the 2021/22 Snowboard World Cup calendar, Carezza enters the full preparation of the double parallel giant (male and female) which will be staged on December 16th.
The Pra di Tori track will host a race of the most important circuit for the eleventh time in a row; the organizing committee headed by president Andreas Obkircher has long begun preparations for the renowned event, particularly loved by athletes. FIS race director Uwe Beier and his assistant Peter Krogoll recently visited local organizers at Passo Costalunga for the traditional summer meeting. In the meeting, the past season was analyzed once again and Beier thanked Andreas Obkircher and his team for having carried out the event without any hitch despite the difficult conditions and praised the "covid management" of Carezza, defined extremely professional. “The initiatives that have been taken here have pointed the way to many other stages of the World Cup. The accommodation, the training sessions, the perfectly prepared track and the course of the race were also very good.
The meals also worked perfectly, both for the snowboarders and the volunteers. Carezza has once again proved to be a reliable partner from all points of view ”, underlined the director Uwe Beier. During the meeting, a forecast for next season was also made. The parallel giant on the Pra di Tori slope will take place on Thursday 16 December, in fact; Carezza will therefore be the second stage of the World Cup after the opening in Russia, in Bannoye (11 and 12 December), then the caravan will move to Cortina (PGS on 18 December).
For the organizers of the Carezza stage this means that the best snowboarders in the world will arrive on Monday 13 December, while on Tuesday and Wednesday they will train at the foot of the Catinaccio. The reigning champions will also arrive in South Tyrol, the Austrian Benjamin Karl - the most titled snowboarder in Carezza with his three victories - and the German Ramona Hofmeister. The South Tyrolean Aaron March, on the other hand, will face the race in Val d''Ega as the defender of the absolute World Cup won last March. “As for the preparations, at present we have hypothesized two possible scenarios.
Plan A provides that in addition to the sporting event there are also collateral events, that spectators can also be present and that the meetings can be held in the presence. At the same time we are also planning a variant B with a Covid-19 plan as severe as that of December 2020, in which we focus solely and exclusively on the safe conduct of the races ", concluded the president of the organizing committee, Andreas Obkircher.
