The FIS approves the calendars of the 2021/22 season: nine stages for the CdM of snowboard cross and alpine

Aaron March will defend his crystal ball starting from Bannoye, some more doubts about snowboard cross, but Piancavallo will return and there is always a lot of Italy in the two calendars.

Here are the calendars of the 2021/22 season for the disciplines of snowboarding, officially ratified by the FIS council which met online in the past few hours. For the year that will then lead to the Olympic Games in Beijing, we return to having a good number of stages (9) for both the Alpine and snowboard cross, even if in the latter case there is '' it is some more uncertainty. Let's go in order: Aaron March will defend the World Cup won a few months ago starting from the Russian stage of Bannoye, placed again in its original date of December. Appointment on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 December 2021 for the opening with parallel giant and parallel slalom for both men and women. There was also no change for the Italian stages: on Thursday 16 the PGS in Carezza, 48 hours later the one on the Faloria in Cortina. Three-week break and return to the race on the Swiss snows of Scuol, with the parallel giant of 8 January followed by another great classic, the two-day Austrian event in Bad Gastein with PSL and team competition (11-12 January ). After the Olympics, we will return to Russia for the PSL in Moscow on February 26, followed on March 5 by the PGS in Rogla, Slovenia and home to the last World Cup; Piancavallo is also back on the calendar, with the Friulian snows that hosted their historic first in 2020. Appointment on 12-13 March with individual and team PSL, finally closing in Berchtesgaden with the same races on 19-20 March 2022. A few more uncertainties for the Snowboard Cross World Cup: the pre-Olympic competitions that would open the calendar on November 26-27 2021 are awaiting confirmation, as well as Montafon (December 10-12), traditional route of the cup on the Austrian snows, awaits green light. Cervinia is back on December 17-18 with qualifications and the race, then on January 4-5 all in Russia for the appointment in Krasnoyarsk. Chiesa in Valmalenco also confirmed, after the great debut of this season, set for 21-22 January and awaiting the location of Feldberg (Germany), before the trip to Canada with the appointment of Le Massif, from 27 to January 29 with individual and team competition. Finally, in March Reiteralm (11-13 March), another highly appreciated novelty seen in the 2020/21 vintage, and the finals as always in Veysonnaz on 20 March.
