Yesterday the first meeting of the new Council led by Johan Eliasch. The president of the French federation assumes one of the strategic roles, Peter Schroecksnadel among the four vice presidents.

Work begins on the "new" FIS, that of the historic presidency of Johan Eliasch, elected on June 4 as head of the International Federation after 23 years of driving by Gian Franco Kasper.
On Tuesday there was the first Council that ratified, among the various officialities, the assignment of the junior freestyle and snowboard world championships to Chiesa in Valmalenco and Leysin. In Valtellina the alpine and snowboard cross competitions will be staged as regards the table, as well as skicross and moguls; the experience in this area is enormous in those parts, thinking of the past editions already hosted, not to mention the advent of the SBX World Cup last January with two individual races that opened the last anomalous season of Moioli and companions.
In the Swiss town of the Canton of Vaud, on the other hand, there will be halfpipe, slopestyle and big air tests for snowboarding and freeskiing.
Also important is the news of the appointment of Michel Vion as the new general secretary of the FIS: a role held for 26 years by Sarah Lewis, before the sensational dismissal last October and the candidacy for the presidency of the same British executive. Eliasch and the Council have chosen the number 1 of the French federation, a FIS member since 2004. "Michel has the perfect leadership and competence for this role", declared the number 1 of the International Federation, while Vion explained that he was "honored and moved. President Eliasch has innovative and cutting-edge plans to ensure a bright future for the FIS ”.
The new vice presidents have also been appointed, among which the former president of the OESV, Peter Schroecksnadel, together with the Czech Roman Kumpost, the Japanese Aki Murasato and the American Dexter Paine.
