The first historical event in Bergamo in CdM is official: snowboard cross in the Upper Town on 23-24 January 2021

The big dream becomes reality: the FIS calendar will propose the new sprint race at night, in the heart of a unique location, then the team trial. It will be the third stop of the World Cup season.

A project that started from afar, actually from a trip by car back from a gathering in Formia with Michela Moioli and Cesare Pisoni to fantasize. The star of the world snowboard cross and the sporting director and lighthouse of the Italian national team who were thinking about the possibility, their Bergamo in heart and soul, of bringing a World Cup race to the Upper Town. Well, after a few years of work, despite a thousand obstacles (obviously the Covid emergency in this cursed 2020) and with an attentive manager like Franco Vismara, president of the FAB Snow Eagle Ski Club who took the ball along with Antonio Noris ( at the helm of the Goggi Ski Club), but also the great support of the municipal administration, Bergamo will have a whole weekend with the competitions of the highest snowboard cross circuit. Michela Moioli's run-up to the fourth World Cup will also pass through her hometown, it is now official after the publication by the FIS of the definitive calendar of a 2020/21 season which will unfold along seven appointments: that of Bergamo will be the third and will start on Friday 22 January 2021 with the qualifying day, followed on Saturday 23 by the great appointment with the unprecedented sprint race, on an individual level for both men and women. We will compete at night, starting at 18.00, like Sunday 24 for the team test on the track of about twenty seconds that leads from Pozzo Bianco, in the small square on via Porta Dipinta, up to the Fara in the heart of the Upper Town. A first time in town for the World Cup, which will start on December 10-12 on the Austrian snows of Montafon and, the following weekend, will see the first of the two Italian stages take place in Cervinia. After Bergamo, we will instead go to France for the weekend of St. Lary (29-31 January), followed closely by Feldberg, in Germany from 5 to 7 February, and the Czech Republic with Dolni Morava (12-14 February ), before the world championships in China, in Zhangjiakou, from 20 to 28 February with the great cup closing once again in Veysonnaz, on 20 March 2021. As for the Italian stages of the CdM of snowboard, the alpine disciplines will have the traditional appointments of Cortina, with the PGS on Saturday 12 December which will open the season, and of Carezza (Thursday 17 December), with Piancavallo confirmed in the circuit after the great debut of 2020. In Friuli there will be competitions on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 March with a PSL and a team competition.
