Second medal for Italy in the Junior Snowboard World Championships. After Niccolò Colturi's silver in men's snowboard cross, yesterday in Veysonnaz, another silver arrived thanks to Fabian Lantschner in the men's parallel slalom of Chiesa Valmalenco.
The 20-year-old from Bolzano from ASV Burgstall Raika finished behind Canadian winner Ben Heldman, while the bronze went to Bulgarian Tervel Zamfirov's neck. The last blue medal in the specialty dates back to 2017 with Gabriel Messner, second in the Czech town of Klinovec. The order of arrival also recorded the ninth place of Elias Zimmerhofer, while Tommaso Da Col finished thirty-first and Mike Santuari forty-third. The women's race instead rewarded the Japanese Tsubaki Miki, who climbed the top step of the podium as in the PGS, beating the American Iris Pflum and the Austrian Pia Schoeffmann. Eighth was the Turin Elisa Fava, best of the blue, followed by Sofia Valle eighteenth, Fabiana Fachin thirty-fourth and Sophie Rabanser forty-second.
Saturday the grand finale in Chiesa Valmalenco with the parallel team.
