For Moioli and his teammates, the season is all uphill: Montafon has also been postponed and will begin in 2021

This time Covid has nothing to do with it: lack of snow and high temperatures in the Austrian resort, which has moved the stage scheduled for the second weekend of December for the opening of the snowboard cross CdM by a month.

Now it's official, Montafon must raise the white flag and the protagonists of the world snowboard cross will have to wait until 2021 to make their debut this season. The umpteenth mockery for Michela Moioli and companions, given that Cervinia had already had to give up the stage of 18-19 December (with some possibility that it will be recovered later); in the case of the Aosta Valley resort, however, it was a decision linked to the Covid situation, while for the Austrian town that should have hosted the World Cup opening, there is simply no ... snow. Bad forecasts with high temperatures and therefore the FIS has moved the races from the weekend of 11-13 December to 14-16 January 2021; since there are no other races in between, we will start from Montafon itself, a week before the big news called Bergamo, but with an increasingly reduced calendar. Montafon who also renounced the stage of the CdM of skicross, also moved in this case by just over a month (it will compete on January 15, 2021); for the specialists of this discipline, therefore, expected debut on the snows of Arosa on 14-15 December, then the appointment of Val Thorens on 19-20 of the month, with the French town postponing the stage by a couple of weeks which was supposed to inaugurate the season.
