A serious death has hit the Italian snowboard family. Hannes Hofer lost his life in an accident during climbing on a limestone wall facing north of Arbatax, in Sardinia, until three seasons ago he was a member of the parallel European Cup team, a circuit in which he had won three podiums in his career between slalom and giant.
Born 27 years ago in Tils, above Bressanone, Hofer was well liked by his teammates for his open and cheerful manner. He retired from the activity in 2017 after having conquered two places in the World Cup in 23rd place in the PSL of Bad Gastein and Montafon, he devoted himself to climbing, mountaineering and paragliding.
