In recent days, Alexander Tikhonov was at the center of an accident in his native village of Uyskoye, Siberia, not far from the border with Kazakhstan. At the heart of what happened, the decision of the four-time Olympic champion to resume a donated icon to the town's church.

The versions of the incident are completely opposite.
This is what the religious institution wrote:
"Today Alexander Tikhonov has decided to take away an icon from our church. This happened in front of a multitude of parishioners. He got drunk and began to insult the priest.
When Tikhonov came out with his icon, he attacked a girl who photographed him. She hurt her, tearing her camera out of her neck and pushing her with all her strength, then tried to snap her fist. Fortunately, he did not have time to hit him, because some parishioners blocked him. Is this character possible to have a school named after him? "
Tikhonov has, however, reconstructed the story in a different way:
"The icon in question is from 1892 and depicts Grand Prince Aleksandr Nevskij. I bought it five years ago in St. Petersburg, since there was a risk of being sold abroad, and I took it to my church in my country.
I decided to resume it after a series of residents' complaints against Father Pavel, the priest who literally privatized this church. Some compatriots told me they could not baptize their children, because Pavel is not always available to do so. Why is not it clear?
There was also a major accident at the funeral of a person named Viktor Zudov. His coffin was brought to the church by members of the Kazakh community. Once they arrived they were longed for, so this selfish "father" was not even seen.
At the door, Pavel's wife tried to photograph me with her daughter's phone. I told the attendants that as soon as the priest changes, and there will no longer be this Pavel who can not be a minister of the Church because he hates other people, I will report my icon.
On leaving Pavel's daughter continued to take photos. I approached, I took the phone strap and asked her to quit. That's all. I was not drunk and above all I did not try to hit her.
They say they've recorded the whole scene with the cameras. Then I urge you to make the movie public! They will never do it, because the images would deny their version of the facts.
In fact, you would see what really happened. When I left the church I was attacked. It was Father Pavel. She came to my shoulders, took my hair and pulled so hard to hurt my neck. I went to the hospital for analysis and I was found to have minor lesions to the cervical vertebrae.
He also threatened me, shouting to be ready to 'puggle in my liver'. I am ready to test the truth machine. With Pavel, with his wife, daughter and all the witnesses.
Now the police will open an investigation. Again, this person has no right to be a priest. As soon as it is sent away, I will bring my icon there and also will give the church a cross. "
As Tikhonov said, for years the father of the Russian Federation of biathlon, and today still a prominent exponent of the movement, it will be for the police to understand how things really went. Surely this is the next chapter in his volcanic life.
