At the fifth race of the season, Norway has already brought four athletes to the top step of the podium; after Laegreid and the Boe brothers, Johannes Dale wins in the opening Sprint of the first weekend of Hochfilzen.

The twenty-three year old from Lorenskog climbs on the podium for the first time and does it from the main door, that of victory: best time on skis and 10/10 at the shooting range Johannes Dale imposes himself with 17.1 ahead of French Quentin Fillon Maillet (0-0) and 29.0 on Fabien Claude (0-1).
In a finishing order with five Norwegians and three Frenchmen in the top eleven, Johannes Thingnes Boe (0-1) pays not only the error on his feet but also a condition not at the highest level that causes him to collapse in the last lap for the final fourth place at 41.2 from the compatriot. The first of the intruders is the Swedish Sebastian Samuelsson (0 + 0) who pays 44.3 and precedes the French Emilien Jacquelin (1-1), sixth at 45.7.
Another Norwegian, Vetle Sjastaad Christiansen (1-0) is seventh at 51.1 and precedes German Benedikt Doll (0-1) by just 6 cents. The Norwegian parade ends with Sturla Laegreid (0-1) ninth at 56.3 and Tarjei Boe (0 + 2), eleventh at 1.00.6, between them Erik Lesser (0 + 1) tenth at a split minute.
Tomas Bormolini (0-1) is the best of the Italians with his 37th place at 1.51.5, Dominik WIndisch (1-2) is 48th at 2.10.8, Lukas Hofer (ninth time on skis) (2-3) and fiftieth at 2.12.7; 73rd Patrick Braunhofer (0-0).
