Second Norwegian hat-trick at Le Grand Bornand where Dale wins ahead of Laegreid and Johannes Boe but they are six in the first nine. Giacomel, fouled at the shooting range, stays afloat thanks to the times on the skis.

The first mass start of the year closes, in Annecy Le Grand Bornand, the first segment of the men's Biathlon World Cup which has reached a third of its run.
A Johannes Boe eager for revenge after yesterday's debacle, penalized by the materials, starts pulling the group's neck but the Frenchman Emilien Jacquelin takes up the challenge and the first round is certainly not tactical. At the first polygon, Boe, Laegreid and Christiansen made no mistake, taking a handful of seconds ahead of Quentin Fillon Maillet, Johannes Dale, Nelin and Andersen. Among the biathletes with an error Jacquelin, Ponsiluoma, Doll, Giacomel and Samuelsson, all between 20 and 35 seconds behind.
the four Norwegians seem ready to compete on their own, as if it were an old patrol race, and they leave the rest in the group in the second lap and the quartet arrives at the second shooting session with at least 10 seconds of advantage. Nobody makes a mistake and Laegreid is the first to open and close, the magnificent four go out in the space of 8 seconds. The first from the rest of the world is the German Strelow at 17 seconds with Fabien Claude and Fillon Maillet. Twenty seconds away are Tarjei Boe and Filip Andersen. Tommaso Giacomel is wrong twice, slipping to 1.14.4 in twenty-fourth position.
The Norwegian quartet finds itself compact in the third lap chased by a wild Fabien Claude, the fastest on skis in this fraction of the race who is 10 seconds away at the entrance to the first shooting range. One mistake for Moe, Christiansen and Laegreid, two rounds of thinking for Dale. They are not wrong behind Andersen and the Swiss Stalder. At the exit of the shooting range, Moe, Christiansen, Laegreid and Andersen are together; the Swiss is 8 seconds behind, Fillon Maillet, Tarjei Boe 20 seconds away and a little further back Guigonnat, Dale and Doll. Giacomel is not wrong, in eighteenth position at 51.8.
In the fourth round, Filip Andersen is unable to keep up with the pace of the more famous compatriots dictated by Vetle Christiansen and the Norwegian championship could be resolved at the last polygon. The Norwegians are wrong; Laegreid pays for just one mistake and finds himself in the lead chased by a perfect Stalder at 9 seconds. In third position at 10 seconds Dale while Johannes Boe is in sixth position after two penalty loops at 25 seconds with Christiansen.
Dale immediately reaches and jumps Stalder and throws himself in pursuit of Laegreid while Claude tries to stay on Johannes Boe's tracks. Dale also joins Laegreid for an unprecedented challenge in the World Cup between the two Norwegian twenty-five year olds, the "predestined" and the "squire".
Johannes Dale (0-0-2-0) starts long in the sprint and burns Sturla Holm Laegreid (0-0-1-1) preceded by 3 tenths of a second, third place for Johannes Boe (0-0-1-2) to 10.6. Fabien Claude (1-0-2-0) is part of the Norwegian championship, fourth at 17.2, ahead of Christiansen (0-0-1-2) at 19.1 and Tarjei Boe (0-0-1-1), sixth at 20.6.
The German Benedikt Doll (1-0-0-1) at 25.8 is seventh, the Swiss Stalder (0-0-0-0) at 31.8 is eighth, Filip Andersen (0-0-0-2) is ninth at 40.9 and the Finnish Harjula tenth (0-0-2-0) at 45.7. Tommaso Giacomel (1-2-0-1), with the tenth time on skis where the fastest was Claude, is thirteenth at 54.3.
