At 2.15 pm the start for the fifth Sprint of the season. After the break for the Christmas holidays, we are back to getting serious, with the blue chasing the first podium of the season. For Italy there will be Dorothea Wierer, Lisa Vittozzi, Federica Sanfilippo and Samuela Comola.

Both top Italians were included in the first group: Vittozzi will have bib 11, Wierer 19. Sappadina returns to the snow that made her great. In fact, in January 2019 in Oberhof he achieved a fantastic Sprint-Pursuit brace, which for the moment mark the highest point of his career. Who knows that she will not be able to find the podium in a context so favorable to her. A context that last year gave Dorothea Wierer a second place behind a wild Tiril Eckhoff, absent today. The blue boasts a total of three podiums in the German town, two obtained in the Sprint and one in the Pursuit.

As mentioned, there will be no Tiril Eckhoff, winner of the last two Sprints disputed in Oberhof, but Norway will be able to count on Mars Roeiseland, who will be at the start with the yellow-red bib as leader of the general and specialty. Here he imposed himself in January 2020 and comes from the victory in the Sprint of Le Grand Bornand. However, there will be no lack of opponents, starting with Elvira Oeberg, who arrived in Oberhof with spirits at a thousand after the fantastic two-shot Pursuit-Mass Start in France. For the young Swede, these were her first two World Cup victories, but she doesn't seem willing to stop. The condition on skis will be fundamental, which in December was clearly superior to all the opponents.
