The Biathlon World Cup begins 2022 in Oberhof, the startlist of the Sprint and Azzurri at the start

There will be eight Azzurri at the start in the two Sprints that will open the Oberhof stage. The difficulties related to the weather forced IBU and organizers to postpone the men's test by one day, which will then start tomorrow at 11:30. In the early afternoon it will be the girls' turn, starting at 2.15pm.

For Italy in the men's field there will be only four athletes, given the announced absence of Lukas Hofer. Instead, Dominik Windisch returns to the World Cup after a break in the Ibu Cup, starting with bib 11. Second group instead for Thomas Bormolini (48), third for Tommaso Giacomel (75), while at the end of the race we will see Didier Bionaz (91). The race will be opened by Anton Smolski, who is expected to be confirmed after the excellent tests in December. Low bib also for Sturla Holm Laegreid (7), but the big names opted for the second group. Quentin Fillon Maillet will have 28 and will start a few minutes before Johannes Boe (38) and Emilien Jacquelin (40), leader of the overall World Cup standings. Shortly after it will be the turn of Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen (46), Sebastian Samuelsson (50), at the start with the red bib, and Tarjei Boe (62). Here is the complete starting list! In the women's competition, Italy will be able to count on Lisa Vittozzi (11), inserted in the first group together with Dorothea Wierer (19). The two big blue will be chasing the first podium of the season, while they will have the goal of entering the points area Federica Sanfilippo (44), confirmed after the good performances of Le Grand Bornand, and Samuela Comola (77), who returns to the Coppa del World after one turn off. In this case, the top athletes split between the first and second groups. At the opening, with bib 3 we will immediately see Mars Roeiseland, while with 15 there will be the other Norwegian Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold. Among the Scandinavians, Tiril Eckhoff is absent as predicted. In the second group with 27 we will see Lisa Theresa Hauser, who will precede Elvira Oeberg (30), Denise Herrmann (32), Hanna Sola (37), Hanna Oeberg (41) and Marketa Davidova (43). Instead, Anais Chevalier (51) and Dzinara Alimbekava (55) fished higher bibs. Here is the complete starting list!
