Temperatures above zero, humidity at 100% and scattered mists descending welcome the Biathlon World Cup to Le Grand Bornand for the third stage which begins with the men's Sprint.
The tracks change but Johannes Thingnes Boe confirms himself in a cannibal version by climbing to the top step of the podium for the sixtieth time in his career, the fifth in a row. The Swede Martin Ponsiluoma (1-0) stops at the foot of the podium, fourth at 52.1 while the Russian with South Korean passport Timofei Lapshin (0-0) puts in a good performance, the best of the last eight years 59.9. The Czech Michal Krcmar (0-0) closes in sixth position, the best result of the season at 1.00.2.
He is followed by the French Fabien Claude (0-1) and the World Cup holder Quentin Fillon Maillet (0-1), eighth at 1.10.2 while the Norwegians Johannes Dale (0-1) at 1.17.1 close the top ten and Christiansen (0-1), tenth at 1.18.4.
Tommaso Giacomel (1-1) closes in twenty-first position at 1.39.0 with the fourteenth time on skis one minute behind Johannes Boe but in a group with Fillon Maillet and faster than Andersen, Tarjei Boe and Nelin. Daniele Fauner (0-1), fifty-first at 2.45.7, also qualifies for the Pursuit, the first in his career, while Didier Bionaz (1-1) who closes at 2.57.5 and David Zingerle (3- 2) to 4.59.9.
