At 3.15 pm the start of the third online start of the World Cup season, a fundamental race for the specialty classification before the final battle of Oslo-Holmenkollen. Dorothea Wierer will be the only blue at the start, but everything is being played for the crystal ball.

In fact, there will be no Lisa Vittozzi, currently out of the top 25 of the general classification of the World Cup, where instead Wierer occupies the sixth place. The South Tyrolean will start today with the specialty leader's red bib, as he leads the standings with a margin of 12 points over Reztsova. But the opponent in the race for the crystal ball is not the Russian, absent until the end of the season, but Julia Simon, who currently pays 18 points. 28 points instead of Anais Chevalier, who could still have her say in the final victory.

Wierer, after coming close to the podium finishing 4th at Le Grand Bornand in Elvira Oeberg's race, triumphed in his Anterselva, ahead of Alimbekava (absent today) and Anais Chevalier. Today's podium for the Azzurri would be significant as it would allow her to reach 45 in her career in top-level individual events.
In the last six Mass Starts disputed between last season and the current one there have been six different winners. The only one able to repeat herself in the two-year period is Julia Simon, fresh winner of the Otepää Sprint and one of the main favorites for the victory of the day, where the Norwegians Eckhoff and Roeiseland will certainly try to have their say, as well as the Oeberg sisters. For Sweden there will also be Stina Nilsson, in her second appearance in this competition format.
