Dorothea Wierer will start with the red bib as leader of the Mass Start classification as she leads with a margin of 12 points over Reztsova (absent until the end of the season) and 18 against Julia Simon. Doro, sixth overall, will be the only blue at the start, since Lisa Vittozzi is 34th in the overall standings of the World Cup and should be hoping for someone else's defections to be there.

Instead, three Italians will be involved in the men's competition. In addition to Lukas Hofer and Thomas Bormolini, currently 20th and 22nd in the general, there will also be Tommaso Giacomel, fresh from a Sprint test and his debut in the World Cup in this format.
