In the first stages of the race Anastasiya Kuzmina took the lead and her rhythm put the group in single file. Kaisa Mäkäräinen and the two Italians immediately took to the Slovakian lines. The high pace of the first lap made the polygon more selective, where the same Kuzmina, Vittozzi, Chevalier and Öberg were wrong once. Instead, they had to complete two penalty laps Mäkäräinen and Dahlmeier. Dorothea Wierer with a quick and precise series took the lead in the race, but then checked in the second round.
Fifteen athletes presented themselves together at the second ground polygon, where Wierer gave another shooting lesson to the opponents. The Italian has passed through the Intermediate just ahead of the Swiss Lena Haeki and 3 "ahead of Paulina Fialkova. Lisa Vittozzi instead with a good series has returned to 11th position to 13 "from the teammate, while again wrong Kuzmina, Mäkäräinen and Dahlmeier.
In the third lap Wierer again decided not to force the pace and led by the US Clare Egan. The pace, far from mad, has nevertheless allowed several athletes to hang up to the group. Despite the conservative tactics, the leader of the general classification made two mistakes in the first standing set, slipping in 15th place to 42 "from Franziska Preuss, who passed the lead thanks to the" zero "from the pitch. Behind the German with a minimum gap have passed Lisa Vittozzi and Norwegian Tandrevold. In the penultimate round, these three athletes have regrouped and shortly before the polygon were also reached by Denise Herrmann.
Preuss and Tandrevold did not make a mistake at the decisive moment of the race and left the last polygon separated by 5 ". Lisa Vittozzi missed the last target and relegated to 10th place. In the last few hundred meters the duel between the German and the young Norge was very uncertain and only ended up in the sprint, won by two tenths from Preuss.
Soon the complete report of the race.
