Biathlon: Johannes B wins the spectacular Mass of Ruhpolding in the sprint

The Norwegian champion achieved the 31st victory in his career, the 9th season, ahead of the sprint by the Austrian Julian Eberhard and the French Quentin Fillon Maillet.

The first round was very balanced, no one tried to force the rhythm on skis and also at the polygon there was little selection. As many as 19 athletes found the "zero" in the shot and remained attached to the leading group, led by the Austrians Simon Eder and Julian Eberhard. Platoon that has slightly thinned at the end of the second set standing, since some athletes, including Eberhard and Doll, have had to head towards the penalty ring. At this point Martin Fourcade decided to take command of the operations, putting in line the leading group, from which they lost contact several athletes. The first real break arrived at the third polygon, where the brothers BÃ¸ and Eberhard took an advantage of 8 "on Martin Fourcade, still perfect at shooting but slow between one shot and another. The transalpine started the fourth lap with his head down and in a few hundred meters he was back on the three tread. These four athletes came together in the fourth and decisive polygon, where everyone however made at least one mistake. Christiansen, Weger and Fillon Maillet took the lead from behind, who approached the final round with a 7 "lead over Martin Fourcade, Johannes BÃ¸ and Julian Eberhard. Once out of the penalty round the leader of the general classification was responsible for mending the gap. Reached the leading trio the Norwegian kept his foot on the accelerator and in sequence Weger, Christiansen and Fourcade broke off. In the final sprint Johannes was then imposed for 6/10 on Julian Eberhard. Instead we had to settle for the third place Fillon Maillet.
