Bobsleigh World Cup: the German phenomenon gives up after 23 victories in series, but today in the bis race here is a new success (Saturday the Russians Gaitiukevich-Mordasov had won). For Giada Andreutti 13th and 14th place in the two women's tests with Canada and the United States sharing the spoils.

The defeat that made so much talk, after the crazy series of 23 consecutive victories at every level, then the immediate redemption of a champion without equal in bobsleigh (and probably also considering all winter disciplines).
Francesco Friedrich experienced a difficult weekend in Sigulda, a track where a bit of everything can always happen and, on Saturday, the bench was in fact skipped in the first two-man bobsleigh test, with the phenomenon of Pirna even 12th in the race that saw the Russians Rostislav Gaitiukevich and Mikhail Mordasov rejoice, able to replace the British Brad Hall and Greg Cackett, with the Austrians Maier-Sammer third (18th the blues Patrick Baumgartner and Robert Mircea).
Today the second challenge and a new triumph for the absolute master of the World Cup, who together with Thorsten Margis burned Hall and Gleeson for only 6 cents, while Kibermanis and Miknis took 3rd place to Latvia. Seventeenth place, however, for Baumgartner and Fantazzini.
The women's races in Sigulda, on the other hand, were opened by the comparison of the monobob valid for the World Series, with Giada Andreutti giving Italy a decent 13th place, while the Canadian Christine De Bruin, leader of the general, dominated in front to the Australian Breeana Walker and to the Russian Nadezhda Sergeeva. Today the duo bob with Elana Meyers Taylor (paired with Lake Kwaza) who gives the United States the victory, ahead of Mcneill and Nicoll by 22 cents, while De Bruin (with Bujnowski) has to settle for third place. Fourteenth the blue crew with Giada Andreutti and Tania Vicenzino.
The bobsleigh CdM will be back as protagonist next weekend in Winterberg, with the races scheduled on the German gut on 8-9 January.

Benjamin Karl fa marcia indietro: il campione olimpico del PGS torna allo snowboard verso il Mondiale di casa
Dopo aver annunciato lo scorso marzo il ritiro dall'attività, fresco del leggendario bis olimpico, il 40enne fuoriclasse austriaco aveva avviato un progetto legato alla bicicletta, sua enorme passione, con l'obiettivo dei Giochi del 2030 nel ciclocross (che non è stato inserito nel programma per la rassegna sulle Alpi francesi). Sono cambiate alcune cose e ho capito di essere semplicemente uno snowboarder che si diverte tantissimo sui pedali. Punterà soprattutto ai campionati del mondo di Montafon che a marzo chiuderanno la stagione.
