On paper, the leitmotif of the women's race for the upcoming World Championships in London should be represented by a comparison between the'' Italian Carolina Kostner, defending champion, Japan's Mao Asada, unbeaten so far this season, and the Korean Yu-Na Kim, Olympic champion in office on his return to competition after a year's sabbatical.

FINAL NOTES
Mao Asada (2008-2010), Yu-Na Kim (2009) and Carolina Kostner (2012) have at least one success in the World Championships. Among other members, the only Alena Leonova and Akiko Suzuki have managed to get on the podium.
'' The oldest athlete in the race is Akiko Suzuki, the next twenty-eight springs. The youngest, however, is the Russian Elizaveta Tuktamisheva, who turned secidi years last December 17.
