L'' waiting Korea's Kim Yu-Na finished in first position, the women's short program of the World Figure Skating Championships, hosted by Budweiser Gardens in London. The competition was full of mistakes on the part of several favorite Christmas Eve, but, charts in hand, the gaps were rather content.

The Olympic champion in charge, fell on the ice a couple of hours before the main enemy, completed a flawless testing, but, thanks to some level fell by the wayside on the tops and a drizzle of entry suspicion on the triple flip, failed to break through the barrier of the seventy points. Kim has, however, removed the satisfaction of getting the highest technical score of the day, but on the front components of the program has paid duty in each entry compared to Carolina Kostner.
The defending champion, despite a disastrous fall on the combination triple toe loop / triple toe loop, was able to bring home a'' unexpected second place with just over three lengths behind the leader deficit. The second member of the Italian team has thus had to settle for the twenty-first position, but with a gap less than eight lengths from the tenth spot, aim the day before.
The novice Carol Bressanutti failed to qualify for the free program, but it does not demerit the best performing most of the items presented. '' It is a bit of regret for missing the rotation on the triple Rittberger preceded by the step which, however, even if not completed well would allow it to access the free program.
In the light of the outcome of today's short, Korea and Japan would have three seats available for the Olympic Games. Italy, Canada, USA, Russia and Sweden may, however, deploy two athletes. A place should be, finally, to France, China, Estonia, Spain, Ukraine, Great Britain, Slovakia and Australia.

Rulfi rassicura sulla situazione di Goggia: Non sentiva di potersi allenare, ma non c'è stato nulla di traumatico
Alla Gazzetta dello Sport, il direttore tecnico della nazionale femminile ha aggiunto qualche dettaglio sui motivi del rientro anticipato di Sofia dal Sudamerica, rinunciando al blocco in Cile che era previsto dopo quanto di buono fatto per due settimane abbondanti a Ushuaia specialmente sul gigante. Nelle prossime ore gli accertamenti medici: Non li abbiamo fatti in Argentina perchè non c'era la possibilità di approfondire al meglio.
