Martins and Tomass Dukurs have written the history of the skeleton in Latvia and beyond, with their younger brother who has dominated the discipline for years. Both are aiming to participate in their fifth Winter Olympics in Beijing next February, but behind these two champions there is a growing boy ...
We are talking about Darels Dukurs, son of Tomass who joins the Latvian national team of ice hockey at Under 18 level; the 17-year-old, already a couple of seasons ago, moved to Switzerland to play with the junior team of the Young Tigers, inside the SC Langnau in the capital Bern.
Darels graduated and started an apprenticeship in a Bernese sports school: he plays in the role of striker and, this season, he is already a protagonist among the U20s of the Young Tigers themselves, in addition to taking part in the Under World Championship last April. 18 with the national team of his country.
Maybe not in Beijing, but for Milan-Cortina 2026 here is another Dukurs could give a show on the ice.
