Francesca Marsaglia: The giant will become my third discipline

Always specialist in the speed disciplines, this year Francesca Marsaglia has shown everyone that in fact his workhorse could be the giant, the discipline in which he has already won two good placings that allowed it to enter into thirty in the start lists. Could she be the most versatile light blue women's team? Read what the blue of San Sicario told us ...

This year you're getting good results in giant, a ninth place in St Moritz (best result of his career) and twelfth in Lienz. You're focusing on this specialty to make it your third discipline? Yes, this summer I trained a lot in the giant and I knew I could make good results. Now I'm aware that I can also go into this specialty, and then you add the two speed disciplines. I try to bring everything on the same level, but it is obvious that there are seasons where it goes better in one discipline over another. Giant and Super G are the two disciplines where I felt better already this summer. In giant are seeing the results and I hope you will also see in the other specialties in the coming months. Giant, downhill, super-G, combined. It is only the slalom for absolute versatility. Do you plan to work in this discipline in the future? I do not deny that I really enjoy the slalom, but right now it's hard to keep a good level in all disciplines, so I'm focusing on my specialty well and then in the next few years we will see how it goes forward. Definitely not for the abandonment of the combined speech. Combined in how you feel? I can do some good races. Now I will focus on training in slalom because I have not had much time for him. The combo is a type of race that amuses me. Last season you could not qualify for the World Cup in Schladming. This year is the season of redemption for the Olympics? At the Olympics, I'm not even thinking about it. I only give my best in every race and in every day. If comes the qualification will be a beautiful thing, but I'm not focusing on that goal. Right now I am training to grow each day and condition of any discipline. At the Olympics in Sochi for each specialty will be four athletes. If I had to choose, would you rather be called more or giant in the speed disciplines? I'd like to be called both. This month I will focus to qualify in all three disciplines with the criteria given by the Federation. If it should happen that in one discipline can not qualify, I'd be happy all the same. How important is it to have on the team as a brother Matthew who is one of the strongest athletes in the speed disciplines? It means a lot to have a person in the family who makes your own life and that can understand you at any time. Matthew and I are very close and this binding serves to both because skiing is a sport very nice, but very often you also need someone who understands you perfectly. Matthew has always done for me is a big help.
