With a post on Instagram the 33 year-old Swedish Frida Hansdotter announced her retirement from the races at the end of the season.

"An era ends - writes Frida -. For the past 15 years I have been a world traveler for skiing, pushing myself to the limit of what I thought was possible, I have achieved great goals and met fantastic people. I love skiing and will always be part of my life. But the time has come for me to greet the World Cup and start a new chapter in my life. Spindleruv Mlyn and Soldeu will be my last races. I will miss you all! Frida ".
Born December 13, 1985 in Vasteras and resident in Norberg, Vastmanland county, Frida Hansdotter has played 221 World Cup races and with the races of Spindleruv Mlyn and Soldeu will reach a final total of 225. It has been closed for the whole career by formidable slalomists like Marlies Schild and above all Mikaela Shiffrin but it was good never to give up and take advantage of absences or very rare own goals in particular of the US: in 2016 it won, thanks also to the absence for injury of his opponent for five races, he won the specialty cup, but above all he won the Olympic gold of PyeongChang 2018 crowning a career, we could define it, from "winning median". In the slalom cup it was also second in 2014 and 2015 and third in 2018 while in the general it was fifth in 2016 with another five places among the top ten. In seven editions of the World Championships he won as individual medals, always in slalom, silver in 2015 and bronze in 2013 and 2017. Good life, beautiful Frida!
