First success (and first podium) in the World Cup for the Frenchwoman in the parallel giant of Sestriere. Total surprise also for Moerzinger, who condemned Brignone and Goggia.

There has been a lot of talk, even in the post race, of a giant parallel to Sestriere partly conditioned by a formula which, with the heats dry from the round of 16 onwards, saw 17 winners on the blue track and only 3 on the red one.
You can't just talk about luck, however, in the first career success of Clara Direz, the 24 year old transalpine who certainly made the most of the draw that led her to play every run from inside or out on the track seemed slightly faster , starting with the coup signed in the round of 16 against Mikaela Shiffrin.
