Tessa Worley has to stop again. It is always the usual right knee to give problems to the French champion, who had already suffered a lot in the last two giants in Courchevel and Lienz; despite everything, the transalpine specialist was in 5th place in the discipline World Cup, 114 points behind Federica Brignone, after having climbed on the podium only in the opening in Soelden. Too much pain and therefore the decision to return under the knife, as already happened last spring to work on the meniscus injured in December 2018 in Lake Louise; arthroscopic surgery performed by Dr. Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet, one of the best specialists in the world ("now he knows every corner of my knee", joked Tessa on social media) and recovery times not yet precise, but which will certainly keep the bi champion out the world for the Sestriere race on January 18th and, almost certainly, that of Maribor on February 15th. â€œI expect to return by the end of the winter, it was not an expected operation but the pain in the knee made it necessary. Now I feel relieved, â€said Worley, who could do it for the last three races of the season, starting with the giant of Ofterschwang set for March 7th. Of course, he will be out of the game in the fight for the giant cup, but perhaps we will see one of the best performers among the wide doors near his maximum levels. In the next appointment in Sestriere, therefore, the Norwegian Mina Fuerst Holtmann (with Alice Robinson rising in eighth position, but will remain in the draw from 8 to 15) will be in the first starting sub-group, one of the revelations of the first part of the season .
