And the technician in charge of the group of technical disciplines, spoke of a Vinatzer with medium-long term prospects also on the giant slalom, which the twenty-year-old Val Gardena will face above all in the European Cup, as already done in part in the 2019/2020 vintage .
The podium in Zagreb, with that third place less than three tenths from the success (went to Clément Noel, to which he is often approached even if he is more than two years more "expert"), represented the top of last season in terms of results , but the same Schladming race, unscheduled post arrival included, said a lot about the qualities of an athlete now ready to play it always, in any condition and track, thanks also to the clear improvement of the starting bibs, since Alex is now in the second sub-group of merit with the 11th place in the specialty WCSL.
It's just a shame not to have seen him until the end of a World Cup ended, for the slalomists, even on February 8th with the Chamonix race in which Vinatzer raced in very difficult conditions due to flu, and at the junior world championships in Narvik where he would have defended the world title won the previous year in Val di Fassa.
