In an interview with the German newspaper Bild Felix Neureuther stated that his career as a skier might not continue.

"My daughter Matilda will decide how long I will race again - says the 34 year old Bavarian from Garmisch-Partenkirchen -. If I see it will be too difficult to come back then I will stop. My agonistic life is over, now it is she who needs me. My career has been long enough. Life is not about the medals but what is left to you ".
After winning in Levi last November, Felix had to skip the rest of the season due to a broken crusader on his left knee. He and his girlfriend Miriam Gössner, who recently passed from biathlon to cross-country skiing, got married in December, two months after Mathilda's birth. Neureuther is back on skis in late April but now this interview suggests that his career can stop here.
