The definitive diagnosis has arrived on the conditions of Mauro Caviezel, leader of the super-g World Cup for which the alarm was triggered three days ago, after a very bad fall in training in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
As Swiss-Ski reported in the afternoon, the 32-year-old from Graubünden, in addition to the concussion found, suffered a severe bone contusion in his left knee and an injury to the collateral ligament of the joint. Mauro will not be operated on, but he will have to observe at least a few weeks off and a period of rehabilitation before trying to save the end of his season. No Wengen, Kitzbuehel and Garmisch, but it is clear that his presence at the world championships in Cortina is also hanging by a thread.
