Double forfeit confirmed: Mauro Caviezel and Carlo Janka will not compete in the six North American races

Emergency at Swiss-Ski, from Lake Louise to Beaver Creek: for the winner of the super-g cup in 2020 still doubts about returning with the vision problems caused by the fall last January.

A double package that weighs, if we consider that Switzerland will already have to do without, for the first speed triptych of the World Cup season, scheduled from 26 to 28 November in Lake Louise, to Urs Kryenbuehl and Ralph Weber who have chosen not to undergo vaccination. As already leaked in recent weeks, before Swiss-Ski made their absence official this morning, Mauro Caviezel and Carlo Janka will not take part in the six North American races (including the two super-gs and the Beaver Creek descent, from 3 to 5 December ), due to the respective physical problems. The 2020 super-g cup winner still has to deal with the damage caused by the fall in training in Garmisch at the beginning of the year, given that the severe concussion causes Caviezel vision problems, which Mauro is trying to recover 100% % with a series of therapies, although the date of return remains very uncertain. He will try to make it for super-g and descent in Val Gardena (17-18 December), a Carlo Janka who continues to struggle with the problems in his back that have affected him for years. For the 35-year-old from Graubünden, a few days of training between summer and autumn and the flat rate for the first six speed tests was now taken for granted.
