A first heat with little blue up front, on the “Salizzona” which hosts the two-day men's European Cup dedicated exclusively to the giant (and initially scheduled for January 22-23).
Halfway through the race of the fourth round of the season, waiting for the decisive heat scheduled at 12.30, it is Semyel Bissig who already has a lot of margin to try to seize what would be his first victory in the European Cup; the Swiss, already in light at the CdM level in the parallel of Lech / Zuers, precedes two Norwegians with Haugan second at 48 cents and Veisten who pays 87.
Then everything is open for the podium area, with the Dutch Meiners (4th at + 0 "93) and the Russian Kuznetsov both under the second behind, ahead of the Swiss Daniele Sette, sixth at 1" 12 on a par with Charlie Raposo and with a couple of cents on compatriot Noger. Luca De Aliprandini was not there, while Giovanni Borsotti left the scene; the best will be Hannes Zingerle, 12th at 1 ”30 from Bissig, while Giovanni Franzoni, 4th in the specialty ranking, navigates in sixteenth place with 1” 59 to recover. A penny behind the Brescia player here is an excellent Tommaso Sala between the wide gates of the giant, with Daniele Sorio completing the blue trio, in 18th position (+1 ”67). Negative the first heat of Alex Hofer, the leader of the discipline cup only 23rd at 1 ”88, preceded by 4 cents by Stefano Baruffaldi (20th at 1” 84), but started with the number 38.
