"Vertigo". A name that is already scary, even more so if you have never competed on that track, except for the Italian championships two years ago. And it will be the new Cortina track that will open the world championships for the men's sector, obviously weather permitting: an appointment set at 13.00 on Thursday, on the layout of Alberto Ghidoni, Italjet technician who will be able to field five athletes. The reigning world champion, in fact, is Dominik Paris and it was a good draw for the Italian champion, between the even numbers from 2 to 20 (having come out of the top 10 of the specialty WCSL). In fact, "Domme" will start with the number 8, between Marco Odermatt (7) and Matthias Mayer (9), the two main favorites together with Vincent Kriechmayr, who chose the 5 to look for the trio after Kitzbuehel and Garmisch, in what could become the most important career race for the Lower Austrian native.
