The 35-year-old German recovers intermediate after intermediate in the simplest stretch of Vertigo, arriving just 7 cents from the sensational gold surprise (Romed hadn't climbed a top-level super-g podium for over 10 years!).
And in third place there is another athlete who surprises, even if we are talking about a great champion: first world medal in super-g (the fifth overall) for Alexis Pinturault, splendid on the most technical section and in the end third, at 38 cents from Kriechmayr.
Then there is Paris, in fact, which manages the critical point in the best way, slightly misses the diagonal but really disputes a solid test, finishing fourth at 55 cents, 5 better than Matthias Mayer, who instead gets his interpretation wrong. of the jump Vertigo, too conservative leaving almost a second to then recover at the bottom, but in the end having to settle for a disappointing 5th place for the Carinthian.
