In the European Cup, Italy commands: Sala leader of the general, on December 9-10, all in Santa Caterina Valfurva

After the 2nd place in the Trysil giant, Brianza is ahead of everyone before the Valtellina meeting. And the women will be back in the race Thursday at Kvitfjell.

In the European Cup he always commands ... Italy. Already in the last season the satisfactions had been several, including rankings of specialties, fixed seats and the triumph in the overall male ranking of Simon Maurberger, but also the start of the 2019/2020 edition of the continental circuit was splendid for the Azzurri. In particular thanks to Tommaso Sala, great protagonist in the Funesdalen slalom, with the first success obtained last Saturday, and even in giant in Trysil, with today's second place that launched the Brianza at the top of the general classification: the 24 year old from Casatenovo in fact, after leading points in all four races in Scandinavia, he led with 236 active points, 36 more than the Norwegian Solheim, who won the two giants on his home snow, and the German Linus Strasser, leader in slalom with 160 points. Roberto Nani, 4th and 3rd in the two days of Trysil, is 6th with 110 points. Among the girls, however, in front of all there is the very young Swedish Sara Rask, able to score points (and sign a big double in the giants of Trysil) in the four technical tests and collect 295 points, with the German Hilzinger, who has won the two Funesdalen slalom, second at 236, the British Guest third at 140 and the Vicenza Asja Zenere fourth, with 116 points and the first podium obtained last Saturday in the second giant of Trysil. The women's circuit does not stop, given that between Thursday 5 and Friday 6 December, Kvitfjell will stage a super-g and a combined alpine; men, on the other hand, will return to the forefront of Italian snow. On 9-10 December, the appointment is set for the "Deborah Compagnoni" of Santa Caterina Valfurva, which has already been the theater of the World Cup show in recent years, with a combined Monday 9 (10 hours super-g run, at 1.30pm the slalom) and a super-g in the morning (at 10 am) on Tuesday 10 December. The event will be organized by "Cancer First Aid Onlus", which will promote activities for cancer patients at the same time, and already counts on the participation of many Italian sprinters who are already protagonists on some occasions at World Cup level and not only in the continental circuit, like Guglielmo Bosca, Nicolò Molteni, Henri Battilani, Alexander Prast, Florian Schieder and the returning Davide Cazzaniga, who last year had already secured a permanent position in CdM.
