Alpine Skiingmen's european cup
The Italian (18 years) is second in the Alpine combined, after the 4th place in super-g, behind another phenomenal young man like McGrath, who gets the first success of his career.

A great talent that, within three days, has definitely presented itself to the eyes of fans, in a context of the highest level such as that of the European Cup in Sella Nevea.
Giovanni Franzoni really did something special on the Friuli snow, taking the first points of his career on the continental circuit with 13th place in the super-g on Wednesday, then a 6th place in the second fast race, a 4th in the super-g valid for the combined (but also as a single race, recovery of the one skipped in Orcieres) that went on stage this morning, and in the afternoon here is the first podium, with the 2nd final place in the alpine combined.
Eighteen years old, raised in the Ski College Falcade, the Azzurri impressed everyone, playing it well even in the slalom where he was bent only by a young phenomenon like Atle Lie McGrath (one year older than him, being a 2000 class), which finally grabbed the first victory in the European Cup and practically armored the success in the general classification.
And to think that, on the third step of the podium, ended the world championship 2017 (but at a senior level ...) of the Alpine combined, that is Luca Aerni 52 cents away from McGrath and 18 cents from Franzoni himself.
In the morning super-g, however, the second continental triumph of Raphael Haaser (after that of Wednesday always in Sella Nevea) arrived, who dominated with over 8 tenths of a margin on McGrath, again second before exulting in combined, and compatriot Rieser, who then ended up very far in the combined, with Franzoni precisely fourth only 2 cents from what would have been the first podium of his career, then grabbed in the combined.
And so Haaser, who came out in the slalom heats, took the leadership of the super-g standings, surpassing Alexander Prast, today 11th after the 3rd and 8th place of the previous two days.
