In Saalbach-Hinterglemm the conditions are ideal, for the eighth men's downhill World Cup which could award the third consecutive crystal ball in the specialty for Beat Feuz, but also bring Aleksander Aamodt Kilde back to the top of the general classification.
These are the two main themes of a race that starts at 12.45, after the mini test held in the morning (14 seconds and best time, if we want to define it, by Ryan Cochran-Siegle) which was necessary to play the whole route of the Zwoelferkogel.
Maxence Muzaton will be the first at the start, but the big guys are now with low bibs, from Kriechmayr with 5 to the same Feuz and Kilde, who chose the 7 and 9.

Without Christof Innerhofer, the best of the Azzurri on trial and who gave up the race as he will for all the last seasonal events, in defense of the injury status, only five of Ghidoni's men will be in the race.
First at the starting gate Emanuele Buzzi, bib number 26, followed by Matteo Marsaglia (29), Mattia Casse (30), Davide Cazzaniga (40) and Florian Schieder with the 50.
