Nicholas Iliano announces his retirement: the Swiss giant will devote himself to a career as a photographer

A story of great sacrifice and passion, turning for years at his own expense between the various circuits (with 15 bibs in the European Cup). "I lived my dream for many years, I made it".

Nicholas Iliano really has a thousand adventures to tell in the world of skiing, which he can now put in black and white once his skis have been hung, or describe them in pictures, he who is a great lover of photography. The Swiss gigantist announced his retirement from competition, at the age of 28 on August 17, after having been an excellent protagonist for many years (and injuries) in the minor circuits, from FIS races to trips to Australia and New Zealand, up to wearing 15 bibs in the European Cup. Virtually always at his own expense, with a passion out of the ordinary like his peer and friend Daniele Sette, who managed to make it up to the World Cup. "I have always been an athlete, but also a trainer, a skiman, a manager", he told the boys of "Solowattaggio" over the past years, before deciding that his life should now be transformed, dedicating it to professional photography which has already started for some time. "I came to the hardest decision I've ever had to make, because everyone knows how much I love this sport - wrote Nicholas on social media - As a 2-year-old I fell in love with skiing and I've always dreamed of becoming an athlete: 26 years later I can to say I made it! I lived my dream for 13 years, stayed in the world top 100 chart for over 4 years and also in the top 70. I could have done more without all the surgeries I have undergone, but I wouldn't be that man I am today. I am proud of what I have filed, not many would get up that many times and if I could do it one more time I would do it exactly the same way. What remains are all the unforgettable memories and great friendships spread all over the world; I would like to thank my family, my friends and my sponsors for always believing in me and giving me the opportunity to face this life. The Global Racing Team and has been my family for the past 2 years, now my future will be the NI Photography business started a year ago ”.
