Razzoli prepares his 14th World Cup adventure, trains in giant and sees the top 15 ...

In the company of national colleagues in Ushuaia, the Vancouver 2010 Olympic champion looks to the future with great confidence.

At 34, Giuliano Razzoli has every intention of trying to find that podium in the World Cup that he has been missing since January 2016, when in Wengen he finished in 2nd place, behind Henrik Kristoffersen and in front of Stefano Gross, just a week before crashing his left knee, with the rupture of the anterior crusader who, in the best moment of the "second" career of the slalom Olympian, practically forced him to lose (for the high levels) also the next two years. Very few believed it, with the "Rocket" rolled down the starting lists and forced to play it with bibs around 70, until last December 22nd he was able to catch (with No. 69 ...) a sensational 5 Place in the Madonna di Campiglio race. On the 3-Tre the rebirth, then some alternate results and a great closure, with the sixth place obtained in the slalom of the Soldeu finals. In training on the Argentine snows since August 21st, the Reggio specialist is preparing to live what will be his 14th season in the World Cup; from the debut of December 18, 2006 in Alta Badia, all sorts of things have happened, especially February 27, 2010 in Vancouver with the triumph of five circles, but to stay at the top Razzoli knows he must always reinvent himself, as he did also changing materials last summer. The results have arrived and, in the first days at Ushuaia, Giuliano has also tried his hand at the giant to exploit it as a preparatory exercise for his specialty: he will have to wait until next November 24th, with the Levi slalom which will open the long and rich season among the rapid gates, to restart the engines at full throttle, but the Emilian can smile thinking also of what could happen from the Finnish race onwards. Razzoli finds himself in 18th place in the slalom WCSL, but with the withdrawal of Neureuther already official and that of Hirscher who seems to be one step away, he would climb already to the 16th, one step away from the second merit sub group. Considering that Stefano Gross, who has not flown to Argentina and has yet to put his skis back on after the knee operation last season, precedes him by only 11 points and may not even be at Levi, the goal is very close. At that point, everything could be feasible for the best Razzoli ...
