The 26-year-old Norwegian, out of the national teams, today explained his decision: eight bibs in the maximum circuit (without scoring points), the last two races in the Adelboden temple.

A retreat that comes in late spring, after his name had not been included in the Norwegian squadron's staff for the 2021/22 season.
Patrick Haugen Veisten, born in 1994, specialist in wide doors, today announced his farewell to skiing; eight bibs in the World Cup, of which six in the giants of this last year, with those of Adelboden (8-9 January) which will remain his last appearances in the top circuit. Veisten has never scored points in his still short experience in CdM, but has been consistently a protagonist in the European Cup, despite only obtaining one podium (third) in the Berchtesgaden giant in February 2020.
“I decided to stop competing - the words of the 26-year-old Norwegian in social media - I had big dreams and goals, but in reality I didn't think I would get that far in this sport; I am super proud of everything I have achieved and grateful for having been able to travel to discover new places, but also meet new people for so many years.
Being able to train and compete with the top of this sport is something I will keep forever ”.
