FISI Trentino has defined the alpine ski teams for the 2020/21 season.
The components were formalized in the recent Federal Regional Council chaired by President Tiziano Mellarini, on the recommendation of the sector manager Marco Peterlini and following a discussion with the specialty commission. The new team immediately got to work with the first dry rallies that took place in Trento, at the Coni Center in via Maccani. The new teams are made up of 7 girls and 9 boys, as well as 5 aggregates who will participate in some internships during the season, with some new entries and some exits due to age limits.
The goal is to repeat the exciting last season, interrupted a few weeks after the conclusion, but which had given the first time in history the absolute victory in the general ranking of the Italian Grand Prix circuit. Direct consequence then the inclusion in the national youth teams of the Federation of as many Trentino skiers as possible. “We start again with such enthusiasm - underlines the technical manager Marco Peterlini - trying to respect the post Covid times and rules. Precisely for this reason June and July we dedicate it to intensive athletic training with the supervision of the cross-country Olympic coach, Giuseppe "Sepp" Chenetti.
The first step went on stage at the Campo Coni in Trento and in the coming weeks we plan other dry stages at high altitude, also taking advantage of the collaboration with the military sports groups. Our teams will start skiing on the glacier and in the ski-domes only from early August, even if some of the guys included in the observed team of the national team have participated in an internship at the Stelvio in the past few days ".
The coaching staff was also confirmed, coordinated by the technical director Enrico Vicenzi, supported by Andrea Sonda, Mattia Facchinelli and Michele Bertoldi. Here is the composition of the teams for the 2020/2021 competitive season.
