After three of the thirteen races scheduled in these world championships, the Swiss are at four medals with two golds. And Suter and Gut-Behrami already have two each.

They have already equaled the overall tally of Are 2019, which was substantially thanks to Wendy Holdener (gold in combined and in the team event) and Corinne Suter herself who was silver and bronze between downhill and super-g.
Switzerland started very strong in Cortina 2021 and is on the run in the medal table after only three races, thanks to the double goals signed in women's speed with the new downhill world champion and with Lara Gut-Behrami. A gold and a silver for the 26-year-old from the Canton of Schwyz, a super-g title and today's bronze for the Ticino, who among other things will have other chances in this world championship with a main focus on the giant.
Austria came out disappointed by the women's descent, thus remaining "alone" with Kriechmayr's gold in super-g, while the great surprise of this World Cup start is Germany, already able to collect two silvers with Romed Baumann in super-g and Kira Weidle downhill.
A bronze each for Pinturault's France (super-g) and Mikaela Shiffrin's United States, third in last Thursday's super-g and ready for a new assault in the Alpine combined scheduled for Monday.
