From Andalo to Sella Nevea, the highlight of the European Cup in Italy: here are the temporary calendars of the continental cir

The FIS has published the events of the 2019/2020 season: Simon Maurberger will defend the title along 38 events, women also competing on the "Volata" of San Pellegrino

Next season's European Cup will be presented as a circuit full of events, very useful in some cases even for the big players in the World Cup. There will really be a lot of Italy, from mid-December to late February, in the calendars of both the male and female sectors. The start is scheduled between Friday 29 and Saturday 30 November, with the men competing at Funasdalen with two slaloms, while the women will be in Trysil for two giants. Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 December, instead, a reverse route for the two "caravans" with the men's circuit in Norway for two giants and the girls competing in the Swedish resort for two slaloms. The first Italian stage of the 2019/2020 European Cup will be, for males, that of Santa Caterina Valfurva scheduled for 9-10 December, with a super-g and a combined in the Valtellina area; to follow, two super-g in Zinal before another triptych of races between Trentino and Alto Adige. Monday 16 and Wednesday 18 the classic slalom on the "Aloch" of Pozza di Fassa and 48 hours later at Obereggen (with many illustrious names always present), then the parallel at night on Saturday 21 at Kronplatz. The new year will restart from France, with two slalom in Vaujany, followed by four series descents between Wengen and Saalbach, the Kirchberg appointments in Austria and Orcieres and Meribel in France. In February the usual two night slalom in the Swiss town of Jaun, the technical races of Berchtesgaden and a triptych, from 12 to 14 February, on the Friulian snows of Sella Nevea with two super-g and one combined. The men will close between Jasna (double giant), Kvitfjell (two descents) and the Reiteralm finals, although not yet confirmed. Women, instead, after the first two stages will remain in Scandinavia for the Kvitfjell competitions, before arriving in the Alps with Sankt Moritz and the one-two of Andalo, where two giants will be staged on December 14-15. Also in Trentino, the big event on the “La Volata” slope of Passo San Pellegrino, for two descents scheduled between 17 and 20 December, before the Kronplatz parallel. The recovery in 2020 after mid-January, up to the grand finale with another Italian stage: it will compete at the home of Patrick Thaler, on the Sarntal slopes, with two super-gs that could also be decisive in the cup race, won in the last season by the Austrian Reisinger, who preceded the blue Roberta Melesi. In total, 38 competitions for the male sector (8 descents, 7 super-g, 10 giants, 10 slalom, 1 parallel and 2 combined), 35 for the female that includes 7 descents, as many super-g, 9 giants, 9 slalom , 1 parallel and 2 combined. At the heart of the season, several talents in sight in the European Cup will also take part in the Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne in mid-January, but above all in the junior world championships, scheduled in Narvik (Norway) from 4 to 14 March 2020.
