Two days ago Franz VÃ¶lkl died aged 87, son of Georg, who founded the eponymous brand of skis and drove for a long time after it is detected by the father. " Born September 12, 1926 in Straubing, a town Bavaria, three years after the company was founded by his father, Franz VÃ¶lkl did this great brand with revolutionary tools such as "Renntiger" that made the fortune of the company in the races of the World Cup, World Championships and Olympics, particularly in the 70s and 80s of the twentieth century. In the 90s came the crisis and VÃ¶lkl sold the company to the Swiss Gregor Furrer & Partner Holding AG, now part of the U.S. company Jarden Corporation and gives employs approximately 900 people.
