The calendar of the World Cup 2020/21 towards important changes, expected already in the coming days. And the International Federation formalizes the protocols with mandatory pads.

After the opening in Soelden, confirmed and anticipated by a week (17-18 October), the parallel weekend in Lech / Zuers on 14-15 November and the two Levi slaloms the following week, races that should not have problems in terms of safety linked to Covid-19, the season of great skiing will almost certainly be upset starting from the North American trip.
For months there have been rumors of the possibility that the Killington and Lake Louise stages for women will be canceled in its entirety (technical trials first and speed "hat-trick" in Canada), in addition to the five men's races scheduled first in Alberta and then in Colorado, or with the classic three days of Beaver Creek. According to reports to the "Blick" by the marketing director of FIS, Juerg Capol, "it is definitely unlikely that there will be competitions in those places in November", however admitting the possibility of moving them to the end of February, after the world championships in Cortina, when the restrictions (with the problems linked above all to the possibility of quarantine) could be minor.
Already in the coming days, the FIS intends to put pen to paper the new plan which, according to what has already emerged with the possibility of a second slalom in Schladming, would see Wengen herself give up combined and slalom to stage, on the legendary Lauberhorn , the very classic downhill and a super-g, disputed the only time in 1994 and won by Marc Girardelli. A hypothesis, this, confirmed by the president of Swiss-Ski himself, Urs Lehmann, as the general line of the International Federation is to keep the speed races separate from the technical ones, so as not to completely block the activity even in the case of positivity in the various "groups".
FIS which today published the official protocols to follow in view of the next season: we talk about a mandatory buffer, with previous results of 72-96 hours compared to the arrival on the race site, for all participants in the events, as well as tests serological which will be added for athletes to normal doping controls. A method that will serve to create a "FIS immunity passport" for those who develop antibodies to the virus.
