A second official candidacy, after that of Crans-Montana. Garmisch-Partenkirchen will also try again to bring home the alpine ski world championships, after having had to raise the white flag in comparison with Saalbach-Hinterglemm for the world championship in 2025.
The Bavarian town, which last hosted the World Cup in 2011, is therefore in the running for the event scheduled for February 2027; the assignment in just over a year and it seems that we are heading towards a confrontation between Garmisch and Crans-Montana, while Sestriere remains the only candidate for the world championship appointment of 2029, although obviously in this case c '' is still a long time since the assignment of those World Championships will only take place in 2024.
