They are the home races and, even if leading women and men are counted on the fingers of one hand, for the United States and Canada the rehearsals of Killington (female sector) and Lake Louise with the boys, represent a special appointment during the World Cup vintage.
The only stars and stripes stage for women will see Team USA propose six athletes both for the giant on Saturday and for the slalom on Sunday: alongside Her Majesty, Mikaela Shiffrin, Paula Moltzan will be among the wide doors Nina O''Brien, AJ Hurt and two other very interesting young women, but immature at these levels, namely Keely Cashman and Storm Klomhaus.
Twenty-four hours later, Katie Hensien and Foreste Peterson, this last protagonist in Nor-Am Cup, will take the place of Hurt and Klomhaus.
The Canadian women's teams for technical races in Vermont, on the other hand, have seven athletes per giant and slalom: Marie-Michèle Gagnon will try to return to high level also in giant and slalom, with Erin Mielzynski who will be the tip, along with Laurence St Germain, for the test between the narrow poles. With them, also Candace Crawford, Roni Remme, Ali Nullmeyer and Amelia Smart.
Good quality training for the male sector involved in the snow of home: in Lake Louise, downhill and super-g will see Canada propose Benjamin Thomsen as top ten hope for the descent, same goes for Dustin Cook in super-g. In both races, Sam Mulligan, Jack Crawford, Jeff Read, Brodie Seger (who did well in the super-g FIS of Panorama) and Alexander Cameron will also compete.
