Grass skiing: at the Obri Sud Javornik course, a triple FIS (and Junior Cup) event began with the speed races, stamped by the Lombardy skier, while the home national team began its domination in the giant slalom, with today’s slalom bringing an Italian victory in the men’s event. Next weekend, the World Cup finals take place in Predaia, in the heart of Trentino.

A rich weekend of FIS events took place on the Obri Sud Javornik course, with plenty of Italian success among the Czech stars on home soil.
With the World Cup finals set for the weekend of 19–20 September in Predaia, this was an important staging post, also counting toward the Junior Cup. It began with a victory for the Italian national team thanks to Nicole Mastalli, who won Saturday’s women’s super-G ahead of two outstanding performers: Sarka Abrahamova, beaten by 12 hundredths, and Austrian Tina Hetfleisch (+ 0”52). Gaia Cassone finished 11th, Lisa Anastasia Lucchese 12th and Vittoria Palano 16th.
In the men’s event, the Czech Republic completed a 1-2-3-4 with Ales Knor taking victory ahead of Robin Polansky, Vaclav Knor and Josef Jelinek, while Roberto Cerentin finished 5th and Bryan Agostini 6th.
Then came the giant slalom, with Mastalli finishing seventh. The skier from Lecco was 2”51 behind another home winner, Aneta Koryntova, who beat Hetfleisch by 28 hundredths and Abrahamova by 53. Tenth-placed Lisa Anastasia Lucchese finished ahead of Gaia Cassone (12th) and Vittoria Palano, who was once again 16th.
Among the men, the Czech Republic took another clean sweep, with Ales Knor claiming his second victory ahead of compatriots Polansky (+ 0”26), Adamek (+ 0”28), Vaclav Knor and Juhos. Roberto Cerentin finished sixth, followed by Michael Bertagno in ninth, Bryan Agostini 12th, Mattia Garollo 14th, Mark Mastalli 18th, Elia Gasperini 20th, Pietro Pettini 23rd and Mattia Facchini 27th.
Today’s closing slaloms saw Eliska Rejchrtova dominate from the first run, beating Tina Hetfleisch by 83 hundredths, with Aneta Koryntova third at 1”30, while Lucchese finished sixth. Finally, Michael Bertagno produced the standout performance in the men’s race, edging Matyas Stepanek by 19 hundredths, with six more Czechs following behind. Polansky completed the podium, while the ever-present Cerentin took ninth place.
